by the Rover Co., Ltd. at the Motor Show next month. The car is interesting in that the engine is mounted at the rear, 'and a De Dion rear axle and four-wheel drive are used. Four-wheel drive has been employed because of the high torque-to-weight ratio.
At 52,000 compressor r.p,m. the engine develops 110 b.h.p, and a heat exchanger is incorporated to give a reasonable fuel-consumption figure. During tests at the proving ground of the Motor Industry Research Association, the car gave 13.8 m.p.g. at an average speed of 40 m.p.h. and the acceleration time from 0-80 m.p.h. was 18 sec.
