Schedule of Entries and Programme of the Contest which Starts To-day (Tuesday).

IN WHAT FOLLOWS we have endeavoured to give, in as few words as may be, just the information, about the machines entered for the tractor trials' which the farmer would most like to have. We have divided the tractors up according to whether they took part in last year's trials or not. We deal first with those that did so, and in our reference give a brier statement of the results of their • work last year. The other tractors and ploughing engines are dealt with subsequently, and in both divisions the machines are taken roughly in alphabetical order. The horse-powers of the tractor engines are calculated according to the formula • stipulated in the entry form for the trials. A USTIN. Last year pulled „ 1,950 lb. in drawbar test, ploughed three furrows, 9 ins. by 6 ins., in heavy land, cutting two-thirds of an acre an hour at a cost of from 4s. 5d. to 4s. 7d. per acre for fuel, also three furrows in light land, 9 ins. by 6 ins., cutting 0.79 acre per hour at a cost of horn 2s. 10d. to 3s.
