• Evidence of the depth of the recession for London operators was shown this week as Government figures revealed a massive drop in the number of goods vehicles operating in the capital.

There was an 8% drop in the goods vehicles registered in London in 1992 from the previous year. The 1992 figure of 35,000 LGVs represented a 40% drop in the numbers registered 10 years before.
