NI Haulage boss Arnold Johnstone made hs final journey by truck last week when his coffin was can-led to church on one of his skip-loaders.
His son Michael, who now runs Preston-based Melling Contractors, says l is 65-year-old father had always joked that he did not want a fussy funeral: He would say 'sling me on the back of a wagon and dump me at the tip'."
More than 200 family and friends, many from the haulage industry, attended the funeral. Johnstone spent 53 years building up the skip hire and waste disposal firm.
