The TGWU wants the North Yorkshire-based haulier to give a weekly pay rise of 220 to more than 100 drivers in the north-east, which it says would increase their wage to around 2.162.65 for a 40-hour week.
But Prestons favours givina drivers extra payments if they make savings on fuel and insurance claims (CM 30 Sept-6 Oct). • ACAS is to charge clients for some of its services from April next year. Companies and unions will hove to pay for conferences, information leaflets and small business clinics run by ACAS. There are no pons to charge For advisory, conciliation or arbitration services.
