• In hand-overs this week by the directorgeneral of the RTITB, Mr. Eric Tindall, eight trucks were presented by the Training Board to chairmen of seven co-operative haulage training associations.

In Cheshire yesterday, he handed over three Atkinson artics, one AEC artic, a Ford artic and a Dodge rigid, together worth E30,400, to the chairmen of six training groups in the North West including 74 haulage companies employing 2.400 people and running 1,521 vehicles. They are the West Cheshire Road Hauliers, the Wigan and District Road Hauliers, Manchester Transport Training, Bolton and Salford Road Haulage, Liverpool and District Goods and Merseyside Transport groups.

On Wednesday Mr. Tindall presented a Dodge artic and a Dodge rigid to the chairman of the Hull and District Road Transport Training Group, comprising 16 member companies operating 568 vehicles and employing 965 people.
