MR. FRED MANTLE, of Rawtenstall Corporation, has been appointed assistant traffic superintendent to Birkenhead Corporation's transport department.
MR, E. H. HURLSTON, technical superintendent at the Dunlop factory at Spcke, has been elected a member of the council of the Institution of the Rubber Industry.
MR. CHARLES R. DAVIS, sales manager of Uni-Gun Lubricating Equipment, Ltd., has left by air on a visit to the company's American associate, Bowser Internationals, Ltd., to study the latest developments in workshop equipment.
MR. F. S. TAYLOR, deputy general manager of Newcastle-on-Tyne Corporation's transport department, has been appointed general manager in succession to the late Mr. H. C. Godsmark. Mr. Taylor has been in control of the department since last July.

BARON BECK, chairman of the Slip group of associated companies, who has recently become a naturalized British subject, is shortly to leave England on a three months' tour of the United States and Canada.
MR. H. R. PETERS, formerly sales promotion manager of Specialloid, Ltd., has been appointed assistant general manager. MR. E. S. BAILEY has become home sales manager. He was formerly equipment manager.
