Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I WAS PLEASED to see that Robin Hannay's letter (C M30 June) regarding high and low axle ratios was challenged and corrected by CM readers (CM 7 July).

One other minor point that should be pointed out is that Hannay refers to the axle ratios as 'diff ratios. I would challenge this terminology as being incorrect. Surely the ratio in question refers to the 'axle or perhaps 'final drive', not the differential.
