The pressed steel couplings have an 8mm (0.31in) thick top rubbing plate and have a design rating of 18.00 tonnes (17.71 tons). Fifth-wheel height on the ERF's is 1371mm (54in). The LTA290 Cummins powered vehicles are the first 38-tonne tractive units in Tetley's 350-vehicle fleet and are also the first to be equipped with Trulok couplings.
