Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

NPEALS by Wallace .Arnold Tours Ltd. and Feather Bros. (Tours) Ltd. against the grant of excursions and tours facilities from Leeds to Heaps Tours Ltd. have been dismissed by the Minister of Transport following an inquiry by Mr. C. G. Dennys at Leeds on March 25, 1965.

The Minister accepted the Inspector's view that it was desirable in principle to eliminate inconvenient journeys for passengers to join their coaches where a more convenient picking-up point could be provided without harmfully offending other operators.

Whilst agreeing that some abstraction would be involved, she felt this would be limited by licence restrictions and vehicle allowances; and she noted that both operators appeared to be finding a buoyant market for tours.

Any further proposals to expand Heaps' facilities on the licence should be considered afresh by the Commissioners.

Hutchison's Bid Fails

THE Scottish Traffic Commissioners have refused the application of Hutchison's Coaches (Overtown) Ltd. for a stage carriage service between Wishaw and Motherwell. The lengthy public inquiry started last October and continued for three days in December (COMMERCIAL MOTOR, December 24).
