BOUT 10,800 Northern Ireland road haulage workers are to get a shorter working week and improved overtime pay ments. • The week for workers employed by private firms in the Province will be reduced from 42 hours to 41 hours without loss of pay.
A variation in overtime rates provides for payment at time and a quarter for the first two hours worked in any week and time and a half thereafter. Currently time and a quarter is paid for the first two hours.
