ON Sunday Glasgow City Labour Party passed a resolution calling for the introduction of a free municipal transport service.

The resolution—passed against the advice of the executive committee—was debated during a party conference on municipal affairs. One speaker pointed out that although the estimated cost of such a service would be 5s. in the 11 on the rates, this might not be so costly to many people, as their present travelling expenses were 10,s. a week or more.

The conference also approved a resolution calling on Glasgow Corporation to press for integration of transport systems in the Glasgow region.
