• The licence held by Karl Lawrenson, trading as Lawrenson's European Transport, of Altrincham, Cheshire, was revoked by North Western DTC Patrick Mulvenna when Lawrenson failed to appear at a Trafford disciplinary inquiry.
Three-year ban
• Swansea-based Chris Grey Transport, which failed to surrender its licence after indicating it would do so in early June, has had its licence revoked at a Cardiff disciplinary inquiry. South Wales DTC Alan Jenkins also disqualified the company—which failed to appear—from holding an 0licence for three years.
Fined £1,000
• Aberath owner-driver Kenneth Davies was fined £1,000 by Carmarthen magistrates after being convicted of unauthorised use, keeping a chart in a tachograph for more than 24 hours, failing to complete a tachograph record, using a vehicle with a defective tachograph, and failing to keep a tachograph record. He was also ordered to pay £40 costs.
Six down to five
• Maintenance problems have led to the licence held by Christopher Carr, trading as Highway Haulage, of Sheffield, being cut from six vehicles and six trailers to five vehicles and five trailers. North Eastern TC Keith Waterworth also suspended one vehicle for a month.
