IF THE best things in life are free, Sandwell Historic Vehicle Parade and Transport Show to be held at Dartmouth Park, West Bromwich, on May 13, ranks high among life's pleasures. It will cost nothing to park the car and watch more than 550 entries compete for 32 trophies.
The event will include a parade of about 300 vehicles over a 26-mile route from Oldbury to Dartmouth Park. Participants are being encouraged by a £30 prize to dress in a style suited lathe dates of their vehicles.
The organisers are Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council and EMAOES — a word invented for the benefit of Scrabble players who are left with a handful of useless vowels.
