THE NATIONAL Freight Consortium is taking a hammering. Its offshoot Car Auctions, a subsidiary of Cartransport, was launched little more than six months ago but is already knocking 'em down with a vengeance at Stoke-on-Trent.
A recent innovation was an Austin-Rover Group closed sale of 120 cars for account-card holders and Austin-Rover dealers. Auctions are held twice a week on an extensive site and even if nothing in the ring takes a visitor's fancy, something in the restaurant may do so.
