• Fines totalling £275, plus five guineas advocate's fees, were imposed on a haulier at Peterchurch Court, Hereford, on Monday for contravention of the Road Traffic Act. Frederick Baldry of Orcop, Hereford, faced charges concerning 26 offences under section 168 relating to breaches of licence conditions and one charge of unauthorized use under section 164.

Evidence was given that between April and May 1968, Baldry was in breach of his short-term B-licence which authorized the carriage of potatoes for Hintons of Leominster. On May 23 it was found that-his licence had expired seven days previously and the vehicle was carrying potatoes, not for Hintons, but for the Potato Marketing Board. A fine of £10 was imposed on each of the 26 offences and a further E16 fine was given for the unaythorized-use offence.
