The "boss" had been called out. Mullins was supposed to be on a "rush" job ; but Mull* preferred holding forth to knuckling down. He was holding forth on matter, heat, electricity, Einstein, relativity, ions, electrons, Joule, energy, atoms, and the rest of it, and all the,shop "hands" were gathered round, absorbing theory at the expense of their own practice. "In short," said Muffins, summarizing a long exposition, "electricity is only a form of .matter ; and work—" 'Tour work," interrupted the "boss," returning unexpectedly, "is only a matter of form."
