Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE UK'S FIRST Regional Freight Strategy has been published. addressing the efficiency and effectiveness of the freight transport network in the NorthWest.

Similar strategies are now being prepared for the North-East and Yorkshire.

The North-West Freight Advisory Group. which includes representatives from the Freight Transport Association, was put together to tackle the importance of freight movements to the economic development of the area. The group published the document to assist local authorities in developing their own freight strategies.

These include a review of all truck parks in the North-West and identification of locations where further facilities are required. It will also identify preferred freight routes across the region.

"There has been criticism in the past that there was not enough emphasis of freight transport in local transport plans, says ETA regional policy manager Stephen Kelly. "This will focus on that. It sits in line with the regional planning guidelines over the next 20 years."
