Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

The demand for tractors in Colombia is increasing. One firm alone recently acquired seven machines for breaking up. old sugar-cane stubble and preparing the soil for replanting. The traetors which are required on sugar plantations in Colombia, must be capable of undertaking very severe work, for Most of the ploughing is done during the dry season, and the ground has to be broken to a depth of 8 ins to 10 ins. A machine of at least 25 h.p. is required for this work.

Apart from their use on sugar plantations, tractors are mainly used in Colombia at the present time for road construction, general farming not being conducted on sufficiently large a scale to permit of their wide adoption. Good roads are badly needed in the Republic, and, as the necessity for their construction is now being realized more

fully, tractors suited to this work will eventually he in good demand.

The Director of the Bureau of Information and Propaganda of the Department of Boyaca wishes to receive catalogues from ii.11 firms who are engaged in the manufacture of agricultur'a1 implements, including tractors, Makers interested should send literature to " Officina do Information y Propaganda Departmental, Tunja, Colornbia."
