Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I FAIL TO understand the logic of Staffordshire Police in standing down Jon Beech, who was at the accident scene and contracted to the vehicle owners, in favour of Mansfield Group (CM 15 June).

Are the police permitted to dictate to businesses in this manner?

What would Sir Richard Branson do if Staffordshire Police forced his passengers onto British Airways, and how would passengers react to being charged three times as much for the same service?

If we take this process to its conclusion, the police are dictating to motorists how and where to spend their money. This cannot he right. Are the police permitted to dictate where we buy our food, what beer we drink, what plane we catch? What would happen to prices if competition were controlled in this brutal manner?

I can see many more court actions being taken before the industry recognises the simple fact that the excessive charges that we all know have been rife are at an end.

Perhaps the industry associations should take the lead in this, as by far the majority of association members are not contracted to work for the police.
