Mr. Gillard was sales direeror of

Joseph Lucas (Sales and Service), Ltd. He had been closely associated with the Lucas organization from its early days, and was elected a director. of Joseph Lucas (Sales and Service) in 1945, later joining the boards of Joseph Lucas (Batteries), Ltd., and Joseph Lucas (Cycle Accessories), Ltd. He was 61.

Mr. Hackett was sales manager of the Eagle Engineering Co., Ltd., for more than 35 years.

Col. McDonald was chief motor transport officer of the General Post Office, Col. Cole, who was 88, was a former

chairman of the Humber and Hillman companies. He remained a director of Rootcs Motors, Ltd., until his retirement in 1954, when he joined the board of Commer Cars, Ltd. He was a pastpresident of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.

Mr. Westfield was a partner in Messrs. S. Westfield and Son, hauliers, Doncaster. He was 65.

Mr. Vessey, who was 73, founded a bus service in Hibaldstow, Lincs, now carried on by his sons.

Mr. Braund, who was 62, was a director of K.L.G. Sparking Plugs, Ltd., which concern he joined in 1918.
