A petition on behalf of the jobmasters of Weymouth has been laid before the Town Council. It is claimed that the petitioners suffer great injustice on account of the monopoly of the sea front, which, it is stated, the new motorbus company has assumed for its cabs and chars-k-bancs. Delegates from 21 Metropolitan and Greater London Councils, at a meeting at the Town Hall, Stratford, last week, passed a resolution calling upon the Home Secretary to take action in the matter of the provision of efficient mudguards for motorbuses. They complain that the Commissioner of Police has refused to take reasonable steps to abate the nuisance. A deputation. it is stated, is to wait upon the Home Secretary with regard to this matter. The Weymouth Services.

Following an interview between representatives of the Town Council and Mr. Arnold F. Hills, chairman of Motor Coaches Ltd., the company which is operating in Weymouth, the latter gentleman writes that his company has no intention of relinquishing the new Weymouth services. He states that considerable difficulty has arisen owing to the non-delivery of bodies for the new type of motor-coaches which were to have been placed in service this summer. The bodies are now being built by the Gloucester Wagon Works, and have been promised for delivery by the end of Silly. Some of the new chassis, too, have not yet been completed, owing, Mr. Hill says, to the fact that the makers have taken large contracts for the War Office. He asks for a little forbearance on the part of the inhabitants of Weymouth. and promises

careful attention to certain small recommendations which have been made to him with regard to the traffic control of the machines.
