Vans now account for 84.5% of all CV registrations, compared with 80.4% in 1999 and 80.5% in 1989. In 2004 the heavy (2.6-3.5tonnes GVW) and medium (1.8-3.5-tonnes GVW) sectors continued to drive overall CV registrations. Heavy van registrations were up 24.4% in December and 16.1% for the year. Medium van registrations showed the biggest hike: up 34.6% in December and 8.1% for the year Registrations of light vans (up to 1.8 tonnes GVW) fell by 17.3% in December; down 1,068 year on year.
