The Institute of the Motor Industry, a normally staid and sober learned body, have started off 1978 with a bang. They tell me this week, "It is anticipated there will be drama and horror at the Cresta Court Hotel, Altringham, at the Manchester centre's next meeting."
A certain Dr Wood and Mr McKellar will highlight the causes of road accidents and show the methods of forensic investigation used to trace the cause. The invitation is headed -Topical Lecture Eveningand ends "a cordial invitation is ex
tended to all."
Normally I wouldn't tell you all this, but just in case you went along as the invitation said you should on January 3 — complete with hangover — you were about three weeks too early. The shock and horror show is on Monday, January 30.
