INFORMED sources in Munich have confirmed that the German authorities, including the police, are tightening up over tachographs.
Stiff fines are being dished out to both drivers and operators alike, regardless of nationality, for breaking even the tiniest detail of the tachograph laws.
And a clampdown on the Bavarian border with Austria is a particular hot spot at the moment. This is a major border crossing point, especially for traffic on its way to the Middle East.
