Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

hen will the British haulier have professional representation at a national level? Various associations perform a useful service but appear to be ineffective on major issues.

The truck is seen as a fume-emitting, noisy, dangerous obstruction without any realisation of its importance in daily life.

If the Government had used more revenue from road tax and fuel duty on roads, they might now have been less congested.

The Government appears to be hell-bent on increasing our costs until we are put out of business. How much longer must we endure the present fabricated fuel prices which bear no relation to the actual cost of the product ? If the Government wants a professional industry which is capable of paying a realistic wage for realistic hours, why not ensure that we get paid a fair rate for the job? Is the only course of action left to blockade our ports in the same manner as the Continentals?

If we operate abroad we are hit by expensive tolls and restrictive regulations which further increase our costs. It's about time we imposed a tariff on foreign vehicles which originate from the countries with restrictive practices unless we are offered dispensation.

What will it take for the Government to realise that they are not only shooting us in the foot but themselves?
