BLADES, a technical representative of Scammell Lorries, Ltd., has been sent to Turkey, where he will visit Istanbul, Ankara and other large towns to demonstrate Scammell heavy lorries and instruct operators in their use. This follows other visits to various overseas territories in connection with the company's drive for increased exports.

Ma. T. L. TyRtica, general manager of the Zenith Carburetter Co., Ltd., who was taken seriously ill while on a business trip to South Africa, has now recovered and is on his way home to this country. Mr. Turner wishes to express his warm appreciation to all his friends in the industry, whose good wishes he received during his illness.

MR. R. A. ALLEN, after 13 years with the Goodyear concern in India. has been appointed to the sales director's office of the Goodyear Tyre and Rubber Co. (Great Britain), Ltd., as general assistant. MR. H. A. ALLISTON has been appointed manager of the hose division, mechanical goods sales department. MR. A. E. WEST, who has retired after 32 years' service with the Goodyear concern, has been succeeded by MR. R. HOLMES in the giant-tyre department.

MR. R. H. DAWSON has been appointed chief engineer to the ScottishMotor Traction Co., Ltd., in succession to Mr. A. " Sandy " Bracken, 0.B.E.. who recently retired after 42 years' service with the company. Mr. Dawson, who was assistant to Mr. Bracken, joined the organization as an apprentice in 1925. MR. J. GOODALL has been appointed as assistant chief engineer, and MR. A. WEST succeeds Mr. Goodall as works foreman at the New Street depot. Both Mr. Goodall and Mr. West first became associated with the company as apprentices, the former in 1930. and the latter in 1927.
