• The NBC is buying British Leyland's Super Commuter bus for a sum in excess of £20,000. The deal was confirmed at last week's Scottish Road Passenger Transport Association's conference at Gleneagles.
The bus — lavishly equipped with electronic gadgetry and intended for executives travelling to and from work — made its first appearance at the Transport and Road Research Laboratory conference earlier this month (CM April 13).
The NBC is expected to put the bus into some form of trial service and it may possibly be used as a mobile boardroom when NBC directors visit subsidiary companies in outlying parts of the country.
