pan-European security group Eurowatch to offer RHA members discounts on its security service in a bid to tackle cross-border truck crime. Eurowatch gives drivers access to police in foreign countries via a single phone number from any country. it works via a central website and accredited national service provider in each European country, giving 24hour access to police across Europe. The system can also transfer tracking data on stolen vehicles across national borders.
BHA chief executive Roger King says: "I am delighted that the RHA, in association with Eurowatch, is able to offer members such an invaluable service. For our international hauliers in particular, the ability to contact the relevant police authorities in an emergency situation is indeed a security benefit in itself.'
