Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The Greek government is being taken to the European Court of Justice over its insistence that every truck driver should pay registration taxes in Greece to use his vehicle temporarily in that country, even though it is legally registered in another Eli member state.

Judges will be asked by the European Commission to order Athens to abolish the system and allow foreign EU drivers to deliver goods in Greece without paying the tax. The fines could be declared illegal under EU law.

Brussels adds that the Greek rule was backed up by "regular seizures, confiscations and auction sales of vehicles, prosecutions for smuggling and severe penalties". It accuses Greece of breaking European free trade restrictions.
