ASECOND commercial vehicle assembly plant is due to go into operation in Haifa, Israel, in January.
• Designed to produce up to 2,000 vehicles a year, it will handle variousmakes. The company which will run the plant, Mifalei Antomobilim, Ltd., has been financed by Israeli capital.
Various components, including tyres, batteries, petrol tanks, safety glass and upholstery, will he manufactured,. locally. Bus bodies will be built by Ha'argaz and Magen Chatwood.
-Tilt bulk of the output of the new plant will be exported. A substantial number of vehicles is reported to have been sold in advance, and the potential demand is higher than the capacity of the projected factory. Exports are, however, limited by the ability of purchasing countries to supply in return goods wanted in Israel, The Stationery Office has published an
economic survey of Cuba at 4s, 6d. (4s. 9d. by post), and of Honduras at ls. 3d. (Is, 41d. by post).
