FOR MANY people in the industry who were trained at Leyland Motors Ltd, the name of Wellington House might just evoke a few memories. This establishment provided bed and board for student apprentices and became the source of several local legends before being demolished.
Some ex-Wellington House members are trying to reorgan. ise the reunion, the last of which was held ten years ago. Anyone interested should tell John Patterson at Leyland Vehicles Ltd (Eighth Floor, Guild Centre, Lords Walk, Preston).
It is hoped that the function will be held in November in Blackpool or Southport. Unless times have changed, I hope the local constabulary have been told.
