AC, survey of operators found 55% dissatisfied with the standard of newly qualified LGV drivers. They blamed the schools and the test itself, for failing to include laden training (CM 5-11 January). The story generated interest from many radio stations who invited CM features editor Patric Cunnane to explain the campaign aims, including Radio Kettering, Radio Northampton, Radio Sheffield, Radio Newcastle, Radio Gloucestershire, Radio Leeds, Radio Suffolk, London News and Radio Oxford. Representatives from training schools and the FTA and RHA took part in many of these programmes.
