TRAFFIC will be banned frot the centre of Chester ever Saturday from a date later thi year.
The city council agreed la week to implement the bar which will cost £100,000 a yea and affects all traffic, ir eluding buses and handicaT ped motorists.
The council hopes eventt ally to have full pedestrianisE• tion in Chester.
Moves are also being mad to ban vehicles from the centr of Orrnskirk, in Lancashire.
From the beginning c February, all vehicles will b banned from Augh ton StreE between Park Road and th clock tower, and access t other parts will be restricted.
