Transports Le Calvez runs 250 vehicle/driver rental; it prides it vehicles and employs 335 people. The company has a substantial international haulage division, carries general traffic and specialises in express parcel services, removals and self on giving customer service.
When a CM reporter called on this firm, during a press visit arranged by Brittany Ferries to mark its 10th anniversary and view its improved facilities, a company spokesman, M Didier Recourt, told him: "We would like to start a regular service with the United Kingdom on groupage, but it is difficult to find the same kind of company."
Le Calvez is a major user of the Brittany Ferries freight services. It has a subsidiary company in Manchester, known as France Line, responsible for unloading and loading all its vehicles in the UK. It is trying to develop more general traffic all the year round with Britain.
