legislation for Statutory Sick Pay are now available from Croner Publications and Answer Publishing.

SSP, which starts on April 6, and many other aspects of current legislation are explained in a 400 page loose leaf book by Croner. The book can be updated monthly by hand outs that involve no manual alterations.

Croner's Reference Book for Employers costs £30.40 inclusive of monthly up-dates for one year and is available from Croner House, 173 Kingston Road, New Malden, Surrey.

Answer Publishing has produced two books on the subject of SSP. The first is called Preparations for Smooth Introduction of Statutory Sick Pay and is written by Bowes Egan.

The second book is called SSP-Calculations, Records and Corrections and is aimed at helping employers save money in SSP administration.

The books cost £12.50 each and can be obtained from Answer Publishing, Canonmills House, Cannon Street, Edinburgh.

For high technology managers, London-based software house Hilderbray has produced a microcomputer based programme designed to calculate SSP. Compatible with Apple II, Sinclair Spectrum, and CP/M machines, the program costs £70 plus vat, although as an introductory offer the Sinclair version will sell for £35.
