AT the annual general meeting of the heavy haulage and machinery carriers' group of the Road Haulage Association, last week, Mr.. J. Silbermann (Hallett Silbermann Ltd., Watford) was appointed group chairman for the coming year. He succeeds Mr. E. W. Voller (Cattermoles (Transport) Ltd.).

Three vice-chairmen were also appointed. They are Mr. J. D. James (Wrekin Roadways Ltd., Wellington), Mr. G. Whittaker (The Red House Garage Co. Ltd., Coventry) and Mr. H. P. Wynn (Robert Wynn and Sons Ltd., Newport, Mon.).

The express carriers' group of the Association has re-appointed Mr. S. A. Main (John Foreman Ltd., Newcastle) as chairman, and re-appointed Mr. R. H. Farmer (Atlas Express Ltd., London) and Mr. G. Thomas (S. E. Thomas and Sons Ltd., Aylesford) as vice-chairmen.
