OBITUARY '

WE regret to record the deaths of VY MR. ROBERT J. PLUMMER, MR JAMES PARKER-GARNER, B.Sc., and MR. H. G. BREW.

Mr. Plummer was chairman and managing director of Ceag, Ltd. He was 72. He founded the company in 1919.

Mr. Parker-Garner, who died on February 17, was born in 1888. He joined his brother, Mr. H. ParkerGarner, in 1910, as an agent for Austin and Humber vehicles. They started the manufacture of Garner lorries in 1912, forming Garner Motors, Ltd., in 1926 and selling out to Sentinel (Shrewsbury), A32 Ltd., in 1933. From 1936-1948, he was managing director of Midland Vehicles, Ltd., but after his retirement in 1952 became inspector of hackney carriages in Leamington Spa.

Mr. Brew was a founder-director of Brew Bros., Ltd., 133 Old Brompton Road, London. S.W.7, main Commer agents. He had been ill for some time. The company was started in 1908.

"DRIPPING" CLAUSE OUT

ronowING the lodging of a petition by the National Road Transport Federation against a clause in the Newport Corporation Bill which was designed to impose a penalty for the dripping of mud. sand and kiquid from vehicles, the clause has been withdrawn. The presentation of the petition was reported in The Commercial Motor on February 12.
