Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

So that service testing of Routemaster units can he carried out in advance of the availability of production buses, two slave vehicles have been developed by 1.ondon Transport to meet the requirements of Mr. A. A. M. Durrant, chief mechanical engineer (road services). They are needed because the standard Routemaster is or integral construction and cannot be tested as a chassis.

The two special vehicles are based on a full-length welded steel frame, fabricated from rolled sections, which incorporates attachment points for the two mechanical-unit sub-frames.

A cab and observation cabin are incorporated and platforms are provided above and behind the cab for sand ballast, there being sufficient room to load the vehicle up to the weight of a fully laden Routemaster. These two special vehicles have so fai been running on routes II and 46.
