fiANCHESTER is becoming inI VI creasingly interested in the trolleybus, and the transport committee is requesting the Parliamentary Committee to obtain, by means of a Parliamentary Bill in the next session, general powers to operate trolleybuses along authorized tramways routes and to seek Provisional Orders to run trolleybuses on other routes.
A progressive policy of tramways abandonment is being followed, and the city council has been recommended to replace by a motorbus system the tramways route along Ashton Old Road. The trains are being discarded at the rate of two a week.
