Last year there were 51 diploma winners. The smaller number this year reflects the greater difficulty of the tests. Diplomas will be sent to the winners when they have been inscribed and signed by the chairman and secretary of the contest.

The competition, in which C. Dairies emerged as the Lorry Driver of the Year, is reported on pages 208-209. W. R. Meech won the award for the oldest driver to gain The Commercial Motor Diploma. He is 45.
