Lowfield's Evans • Lowfield Distribution, part of the Imperial Foods division of the Hanson Trust, has appointed Alan Evans as regional operations manager (North), covering Scotland and the north of England.

Since January Evans has been general manager of Lowfield's Tamworth Distribution Centre. Prior to that he was operations manager at Middleton, where Lowfield operates a distribution centre on behalf of J Sainsbury.

David Gibbs is the new depot manager of the Tamworth Distribution Centre. Gibbs joined Lowfield in 1978 as a driver, becoming traffic foreman and traffic manager in 1981.

Since 1985, when he was promoted to deputy depot manager, his responsibilities have included a six-month period as "caretaker" depot manager.
