The Dutch Government supports the creation of silent areas in inner cities where only quiet commercial vehicles will be admitted and has awarded a 40% grant towards Daf s 6 million guilder (21.76 million) research programme.
Daf has a similar research programme aimed at reducing the noise levels of heavy commercial vehicles.
