MEW-SEASON coaches from three 1 `1 bodybuilders are among the many vehicles on show at-the p.s.v. sales exhibition staged by the Arlington Motor Co. Ltd. at the London Transport garage, Potters Bar, Middlesex; the exhibition opened on Monday and has no official closing date, and at least one of the coaches--the 52-seat Harrington Legionnaire—is making its first public appearance, having arrived post-haste from Hove.

Among the new (as distinct from used) Bedford-based p.s.v. displayed are three of the latest Plaxton Embassy III 41-scat coaches, one being the Plaxton demonstrator and the other two being based on Bedford SH5 (Bedford diesel) and SH13 (Leyland diesel) chassis respectively. The Plaxton demonstrator • is complete with four extra sliding windows (£28), side domes with nylon net racks (93), fivespeed gearbox (£66). radio and micro

phone (£71), wheel discs (£15) and special metal floor strips for varying the seating (£12 10s.), so with SB5 chassis at £1,165 and standard body at £3,115 the total price, with C. of F., is £4.571.

A 29-seat Embassy and a 52-seat Val complete the " new " Plaxtons on show, the works demonstrator having the recently patented variable seat anchorage, in which lipped seat pedestals engage with lipped rails to enable pitch to be altered quickly or seats removed easily.

New Bedford-based Duple coaches comprise two Vega Major 52-seaters (one with Leyland engine, 5-speed overdrive gearbox, offside locker and other extras, at £5,751 as shown; one with Bedford engine and similar extras, but also with roof quarter lights (£88 15s.), priced at £5,480 complete), a 41-seat Bella Vega and a 29-seat Bella Vista, while a new Bella Vega is shown in Banfields livery; there is also a Willowbrook 54-seat service bus on the VAL chassis.

The Harrington models in the newvehicles display are both 1963-64 models: the 52-seat VAL-based Legionnaire and the 41-seat Crusader IV on Bedford SB.

About 20 used p.s.v. in a variety of styles and sizes are also exhibited for sale.
