Two Ford men stood unsuccessfully for the Labour party in Tory constituencies in the General Election. Both are Irishmen from County Cork. One is Denis 0"Flynn, who works at Thames Foundry and failed twice as Labour candidate at Romford in 1974. He was unlucky for the third time at Hitchin, where he polled 19,940 votes against 33,169 by the Conservative, B.F Stewart.
