Mr. J. Ball. Stacey Road, Mansfield, has transferred one lorry (3 tons) to Mr. J. Pilsworth, Fieldside, Epworth, near Doncaster; one (4 tons 18 cwt.) to Mr. R. Hague. in the Yorkshire Traffic Area; one t5 tons 3 cwt.) to Messrs. R. and F. Jackson, in the Yorkshire Traffic Area; and one (5 tons 9 cwt.) to Woodcock's Transport (Charley), Ltd., Park Road Garage. Heskin, near Charley.

Clark, 403 Fulbc,idge Road, Wetrington, one (5 tons); Messrs. J. S. Briggs and Son, Bridge Works, Thorney, a trailer (2 tons); and F. W. Williams (Transport), Ltd., Ramnoth Road, Wisbech, two articulated outfits (9+ tons).

Church Road Motors (Southend-onSea), Ltd., Church Road, Had Leigh, have transferred to Essebridge Transport, Ltd., Arterial Road, Rayleigh, a lorry (3+ tons) acquired from Mr. F. H. Swift, Lawn Lodge, Rectory Road, Basildon, Essebridge Transport have also taken over a lorry (51 tons) from Mr. W. G. King, address not known.

0. G. Barnard and Sons, Ltd., Station Road. Stowmarket, have transferred an articulated outfit (6 tons), bought from Mr. G. E. Thorpe, The Willows, Mendlesham Green, to Mr. F. W. Doughton. High Street, Kelvedon.

More ex-B.R.S. vehicles have been bought aro) sold by Mr. R. J. Ashling. 277 Eastfield Road, Peterborough. He has transferred to Mr. B. F. Booth, Swines. head, Boston a lorry (3 tons); to Mr. R. Allen, Boston, a lorry (3 tons); and to J. and E. Kenny, Ltd., 31 Scotney Street, Peterborough, a trailer (2 tons). Mr. Ashling is left with two lorries (7 tons) out of his latest purchase.

J. and E. Kenny have also been granted a special A licence for three vehicles, including an articulated outfit (16+ tons).

Four further lorries taken over from other operators have beentransferred by Mr, V. J. Grange, 124 Bridge Street, Peterborough. One (31 tons) originally held by Mr. J. Ball, Stacey Road Garage, Mansfield, has now gone to Mr. R. Knowles, Tansiey, Matlock; and three (8 tons) formerly owned by Bee Bee Haulage (Luton), Ltd., 2 Hazelbury Crescent, Luton, have gone to Vickers Transport Co.. Ltd.. 36 St. Leonards Street, Peterborough.

Direct purchases of ex-B.R.S. vehicles have been made by Mr, 0, J. Smith, Market Street, Bodmin, one lorry (3 tons 17 cwt.); S. Ball and Son (Transport), Ltd., Chipping Sodbury, one (4 tons 2 cwt.); and Mn I. G. Musselwhite, Woodford Road, Coombe Bissett, one (3 tons 7 cwt.).

(3 tons) to Mr. S. G. Polley, 17 Grove Avenue, Weymouth; and Mr. E. A. Gregory. 10 Bexley Road, Fishponds, Bristol, one (2 tons 19 cwt.) to W. G. Golding and Sons, Ltd., Kingswood, Bristol.

LONDON AND HOME COUNTIES Mr. A. J. Maffia, 50 Souffichurch Road, London, E,6, has made a direct purchase of one Lorry (2 tons 19 cwt.). He has also made over one lorry (2 tons 18 cwt,) to Mr. J. C. Manning, 27 Lavington Close, [field, Crawley, Sussex, and one (3 tons 14 cwt.) to Cook and Webb, Ltd., Transport Garage, Lane End Road, High Wycombe.

Three lorries (8 tons 18 cwt.) have been acquired by John Houston and Co., Ltd., 186 Hercules Road. London, S.E.1. They came from Mr. HE. East, Harvest Mews, 1-fornsey Road, London, N.7.

The South Eastern licensing Authority has granted special A licences to H. Mustill and Sons, Ltd., Helena, Five Oak Green, Tonbridge, one (3+ tons); Messrs, A. S. Turk and Son. Little Weavers. Benenden, one (31 tons); and Messrs.

W. J. Sayers and Son, Brightwalton, Newbury, one articulated outfit.

Three more lorries (16 tons 6 cwt.) and two trailers have been acquired by Warrington Warehousing Co., 54 Market Street, Newton-le-Willows. Two of the lorries (11 tons 13 cwt.) and the trailers have been made over to Mr. C. R. Long, 315-317 Queens Road, London, S.E.14.

Mr. G. Malyon, 70 Chargeable Street, London, E.16. who has purchased a vehicle (1 ton) from Mr. W. J. Taylor, 5 Montague Road. London. E.11, has assigned another
