• Tippermen in Sussex will be needed to transport around 80 loads a day when a major project constructing an underwater sewage tunnel in Brighton begins in the autumn.
Southern Water, which is handling the project, says it will need drivers in 12-hour shifts to take mulch from the Marina and dump it a couple of kilometres away at Sheepcote Valley.
Hauliers will be chosen by a civil engineering contractor to be appointed in May. Four truck loads a week will be transported from June, rising to 80 a day for a year in October.
