AIOTHER move in the bid to merge Glasgow Corporation bus services with those of the State-owned Scottish Bus Group has been made. The subject was again under discussion at a special meeting held in the city last week.
Many Glasgow councillors feel that it is only a question of time before there is complete integration. Initially, however, the idea is to merge services on as many routes as possible where there is duplication of Corporation and private buses. It would mean a big saving in costs, manpower and buses.
A big survey aimed at co-ordinating road and rail services in the Glasgow area is now being carried out.
