Ken Jackson, the TGWU national secretary for commercial services, is due to retire next week. Ken has always been—now what's the word I'm looking for?—oh well, forthright will do, and unlike me he was never lost for words. He had a happy knack for cooling situations and really must be credited with diverting many disputes. I wonder if he will get down to writing a book —that's one I would read.
