Mn. OWEN W. J. WATSON, having retired from the Ministry of Transport, is now undertaking consulting work. He has had a wide experience in mechanical and automobile development work, and is experiencing a good measure of success in his new field. It is of interest to note that Mr. Watson was largely responsible, in collaboration with the late Laurence Pomeroy, for the adaptation of the Fottinger coupling (hydraulic clutch) to passenger-service vehicles. Mn. GEORGE E. BERTRAM, York area manager of the Anglo-American Oil Co., Ltd., has retired after 52* years' continuous service. He received a presentation last week from MR. A. W. WOOLDRIDGE, the company's divisional manager in the north.

MR. E. J. LAWSON CLARK. B.Sc., tyre maintenance engineer of the Dunlop Rubber. Co. (Scotland), Ltd., has become the company's district manager in Edinburgh, in which position he succeeds Ma. D. I. PATERSON, who died last month. Mr. Lawson Clark -joined the Dunlop concern 19 years ago.
